Nurse


Ms. Dianna Orta is the Commonwealth Campus' full-time licensed Registered Nurse with nearly 20 years of nursing experience, including 15 years working with children and teenagers in Chicago. 
    
Prior to this, she worked at the Veterans Administration Medical Center and the Interamerican Hospital of Advanced Medicine in Caguas.  She has two boys, ages 13 and 18, and currently lives in Gurabo. 
 
The addition of a nurse to our Commonwealth Campus will not only improve the safety of our campus for our students, faculty, and visitors but will serve as a valuable resource for our Health & Wellness Program for students in grades 7-12.

Ms. Tatiana Torres, our full-time registered nurse at the Parkville Campus holds a Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing. She keeps abreast on the latest school nursing issues and maintains direct contact with the different health agencies available in our community and the United States. Ms. Tatiana strives for open communication with parents and students in order to provide the best school health services possible, taking into account each and every student’s individual, physical, and emotional needs. 

Some of the their duties include: daily management of sick or injured students, administering daily medications, providing first aid care for bumps, bruises, scrapes, scratches and rashes, maintaining accurate in-house health records, providing First Aid/Health Screenings and Health Education, and developing school health policies. When emergencies arise, although rare, she provides emergency first aid care and utilizes the EMS (Emergency Medical Services), as needed. If you have any questions or concerns, please know that the Nurse’s Office (ttorres@cpspr.org or dorta@cpspr.org) is accessible to you during school hours.
