Our future: Raising the educational bar beyond academics through technology
The future of CPS is exceptionally positive with many current and new plans to promote instructional growth through the systematic exposure to 21st Century Skills at all levels including the use of sophisticated technology including Smart Boards, imagers, laptops and iPads. The 2012 Middle States Association (MSA) Visiting Team final accreditation report states: “The technology available to you would be the envy of many schools.” The delivery of curriculum, therefore, becomes heavily influenced by technology thereby capturing student interest and promoting individual teacher-student connections. With this growth, however, the traditional hallmarks of individualized instruction, small class sizes, close student-teacher relationships (8:1 student-teacher ratio), and commitment to academic excellence, sports, fine arts, and leadership opportunities will continue unabated. CPS’ motto “Embracing life-long learning beyond academics” commits CPS to continuously search for increased opportunities in all areas, both academic and co-curricular. There is no limit to what we can do!
Commonwealth-Parkville School’s educational journey from preschool to grade 12 is noteworthy and rewarding. We welcome all students* to become part our “Comets history.” At CPS everybody knows your name. The 2012 accreditation MSA report concludes that “CPS has developed a school culture that fosters a sense of belonging, ownership and commitment. CPS is a family. As a student told us, ‘I know that I belong here.’”
